April Dyer, Veterinary Office Manager at Woodland

April Dyer, Office Manager:

I grew up in Linn, MO, and graduated from Helias High School here in Jefferson City.  I then attended MU, earning a B.S. in Animal Science. I am married with three great kids, three dogs and two cats. I have also been a Licensed Wildlife Rehabilitator. In the springtime, our little zoo fluctuated with babies as I greatly enjoyed taking in orphaned and injured babies.  Over the years, my family has enjoyed raising and releasing raccoons, opossums, kittens, rabbits, squirrels, and even a flying squirrel. Unfortunately, I am no long able to rehab wildlife at this time.

I met Dr. Groner as a distressed pet owner when my dog, Shelby (my husband's and my first baby), was hit by a car.  I was so impressed with Dr. Groner's excellent care and concerned manner.  We could really tell she cared about our Shelby.  As soon as Shelby was better, I started bugging Dr. Groner for a job.  I became a happy member of the Woodland family in August of 1998.

Jessica Bio

Jessica Martin, Receptionist:

Hi Friends!

My hubby and I relocated to Jefferson City, Mo from the west coast early 2023. I have 18yrs experience as a Pharmacy Technician and needed a change. My sister has always worked in the Veterinary field and when they had an opening we worked together as she shared her skills with me and I knew this was the change I needed. Along with my 5yrs as a Veterinary Receptionist I was an Office Assistant to a Ranch Manager who trained and provided animal actors for the film industry and this was an awesome experience. In my spare time I also love to paint, draw, restore ceramic art and take long random drives with my husband.

I have several Fur-Nephews and Nieces. My sister has 3 kitties, (Wrathion, Phoenix and my favorite Illidan) My Parents have 2 pups, (Isis and Thor). I miss them all dearly and can't wait to visit.
BUT, I'm very grateful for Woodland accepting me into their team, it's like having a second family. I see the dedication, compassion and hard work of the Woodland team on a daily basis and look forward to helping your Fur-Babies.

She loves all animals and has both dogs(Gracie, Gizmo) and cats (Gypsy, George, and Sugar Daddy).

Mary Chadwell, Assistant

Mary Chadwell, Assistant:

I am currently a student in the Veterinary Technician program through Penn Foster to become a Registered Veterinary Technician. I have a degree in Agriculture with an emphasis in Animal Science from Lincoln University. To gain more knowledge and experience in veterinary science, I started working for a different veterinary hospital as a receptionist. I later received a call from Woodland in May of 2019 for a position as a Veterinary Assistant. I immediately filled out an application, got an interview, and have loved every minute working with Woodland Animal Hospital.

Growing up, we moved around a lot. During 8th grade, my family moved to Jefferson City and have resided here since. My husband and I met in middle school, started dating in 2014, and got married in 2015. We have two girls, Grace and Freyja. We all love animals and have 3 cats and a bearded dragon.

Hi I'm Lisa!

After more than 2 years of retirement I'm ready for Career 3.0. In addition to working here at Woodland part- and full-time for 14 years. I was also an environmental regulator, a sysadmin and an IT Architect. Now I am focused on becoming a registered veterinary technician, and am back in school again! I hope to sit for the national test (VTNE) next summer or fall. I look forward to meeting you and your furry children. I also look forward to re-acquainting myself with longtime clients and all the new ones!

Michaela1

Michaela Kuhn, Assistant:

Hi, I’m Michaela!

I love spending time outdoors, hunting, fishing, and spending time with my family and friends. I am currently enrolled in classes  at Penn Foster to become a Veterinary Technician. I have always had a passion for making a difference in the world and I love animals, so I decided to work in veterinary medicine.

I am married to my husband, Lucas, for 4 years. We have 2 fur babies - a chocolate lab named Kyra  and an orange Tabby named P. We lived in Idaho for 3.5 years due to my husband being in the Air Force. We fell in love with the mountains but it was too far from family. So we moved back about 2 years ago and have been loving being close to home.

I'm so thankful to be working at woodland animal hospital and can’t wait to care for your pets!

Sadie Moenkhoff, Assistant:

I am originally from Waverly Missouri and moved to Linn a few months ago. I was searching for a job working with animals ever since I moved. I heard about woodland and immediately filled an application, and soon was hired. I love working with each client and their fur babies. They all have a special place in my heart and am thankful for the memories so far!

I enjoy training my dog and cats tricks, and barrel racing my horse.

I am engaged to my fiancé Jason and have four fur babies of my own; Outlaw (dog), Sorren (Cat), Independence (Cat), and Katrina (Horse).
