Companion Class IV Therapeutic LaserBuddy getting Laser Therapy

Woodland Animal Hospital proudly offers Class IV laser therapy services!

Class IV laser therapy is a safe, non-invasive, pain-free way to reduce pain and discomfort, speed healing, reduce swelling, and increase joint mobility and motion in your pet.  This treatment uses a beam of laser light to deeply penetrate tissues without causing damage. The laser light induces biological responses in damaged cells that promote healing.  Our veterinarians and licensed veterinary technician are certified in Laser Therapy for Companion Animals by the American Institute of Medical Laser Applications.

Uses include, but are not limited to: Arthritis, Wounds, Post-surgical therapy, Hip dysplasia, Degenerative Joint Disease, IVDD (intervertebral disk disease), Dental procedures, Ear or skin infections, Fractures, Sprains/strains, Bruising, Swelling

How it works:

Laser light penetrates deep into tissue and is absorbed by cells. The response in the cells blocks nerve impulses, accelerates tissue repair, increases circulation, and reduces swelling. Therapy protocols differ based on each pet and the condition being treated. Most treatment sessions take only minutes. Laser therapy can reduce or even eliminate the need for additional pain medications and anti-inflammatory medications for some medical conditions.

Companion lasers are used by countless sports teams (including the St. Louis Cardinals), the US Olympic Equine Team, and the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine (leaders in veterinary rehabilitation).
