Dr. Alice Groner:

I grew up in Jefferson City and had every intention of leaving small town life once I left for college.  I earned my BA from the University of Notre Dame in 1987. From there I moved to Chicago, IL and worked in finance and investments for several years.  It was at this time I realized that there was no position on the corporate ladder that I wanted more than pursuing a career combining my love of animals and life long interest in medicine.  After graduating from the University of Missouri School of Veterinary Medicine I worked in Springfield, Illinois as a General Practitioner by day and an Emergency Clinician at night.  The hours were grueling but the experience I gained translated into the skill set necessary to open Woodland Animal Hospital in Jefferson City in 1998.

Coming back to my home town was actually an easy decision.  I feel fortunate that I can raise a family, be a business owner, and practice veterinary medicine in this great community.  Many of my clients have watched my daughter grow, and I have watched their puppies and kittens mature into senior pets.  The rewards of knowing my clients, their families, and their pets are immeasurable.

 Dr. Allison Roller:

Dr. Roller was very happy to join our team on November 11th, 2015. She has been practicing in the veterinary field since graduating in 2005 from the College of Veterinary Medicine at the University of Missouri. After serving as clinic coordinator for the Animal Emergency Clinic in O'Fallon, she moved to Columbia where she practiced at Columbia Pet Hospital. She is the proud parent of two beautiful girls, three playful cats, and two small dogs that you may see wandering around the clinic. Dr. Roller has a particular interest in Feline medicine and would love to meet your four legged friend.

Dr. Zac Guhlincozzi:

Dr. Guhlincozzi joined Woodland Animal Hospital in 2021, after a year in practice at Animal Care Center of Plainfield in Illinois, where he worked with exotic pets, cats and dogs on a walk-in basis. He moved to the area when his wife began a career in geographic research. He graduated from University of Illinois College of Veterinary Medicine. He believes strongly in giving a positive experience to every pet that comes into the hospital. He has two ferocious felines at home, and finds fulfillment and great meaning in the work he does as a veterinarian.
